This History was written by and for the men of the 295th  Engineer Combat Battalion at Fort Belvoir 9/21/45 . The copy I have belonged to Edward T. Romanowski and was loaned to me after his death, by his daughter Sue for this web site. My hope is this site will be of great use to the family's of these men. The link below "ALL  THE MEN OF THE 295TH" you will find a complete list of the men and their service numbers which you will need to send for service records and or medals.

Update12/30/2009: Last week I received an email from Dr. Gerald Freedman (Captain Gerald Freedman 295th ECB) who was assigned by Lt. Col Carter to write the Battalion History, which he did starting in Germany and finished in Le Havre. France in 1945. He gave the script to Lt. Col. Carter who apparently then sent it to Fort Belvoir where it was published. Dr. Freedman's contact info is in the guest book at the bottom of the page.
